A local referee was charged with battery after police say he inappropriately touched a 14-year-old, female basketball player during a game last week at Calvary Christian Center.

According to the charging affidavit, the victim said referee Marion Jennings, 66, touched her against her will twice.

“The suspect placed his right hand on the victim’s buttocks in a cupping motion and immediately removed his hand,” the police report reads. “Later in the game, the suspect rubbed his hand against the victim’s breast.”

The victim’s mother caught Jennings touching her daughter’s buttock in a 20-second video shot during the game. Officers have made a request to the Volusia County School Board for the official video.

Jennings, a Palm Coast resident, told police he had no physical contact with any of the players during the game.
