Boys soccer: 'Breeze tops FPC, stays undefeated
With a 2-0 win over Flagler Palm Coast on Friday night, the Seabreeze boys soccer team improve to 11-0-2.
The Sandcrabs ended their regular season Wednesday night against Spruce Creek. (The score was too late for print.)
The game against FPC was on Senior Night, and the Sandcrabs honored its 16 seniors. Jordan Bowling and Brooks Davis bagged the goals for Seabreeze. Justin Merkel tallied the assists.
Seabreezs will be the No. 1 seed in next week’s District 6-3A tournament and will get a first-round bye.
Girls basketball: FPC routs Father Lopez
The Green Wave couldn’t muster double-digit points in any quarter, and Flagler Palm Coast cruised to a 66-19 win on Friday night.
Selena Perez scored 10 of Lopez’s 19 points. Teresa Tabar added six.
Girls soccer playoffs: Father Lopez, Mainland lose
In win-or-go-home games, both the Father Lopez and Mainland girls soccer teams lost Tuesday night, ending their seasons.
Father Lopez (No. 3 seed) lost to Orangewood (No. 2 seed), 3-1, in the District 3-1A quarterfinals.
Adelina Feuerbacher scored the Green Wave’s lone goal.
Father Lopez outshot Orangewood, 8-6.
Mainland lost to New Smyrna Beach, 1-0, in the District 5-4A quarterfinals. The game-winning goal came on a corner kick in extra time.
FPC clips Seabreeze in boys hoops
Seabreeze couldn’t quite pull off the regular season sweep of Flagler Palm Coast in boys basketball. The Bulldogs edged the Sandcrabs, 44-42, on Tuesday night.
Terrell Ivey scored 14 points for the ‘Crabs.
Seabreeze won the first meeting during an in-school game back in November, 6-57, in double overtime.
