Jan. 7
Probably the Big Bad Wolf
11:47 p.m. — First Block of Cameo Circle. Suspicious Incident. The victim said someone tried to kick her door in. She heard a loud noise, and the door came open slightly with the chain still intact.
The officer observed that the door had a slight crack. The victim said the crack had been there before, but she wasn’t sure how bad it was. The door did not appear to be kicked in. The officer noted there were no foot marks or damage, and the door may have been opened from very windy conditions.
The victim was cautious because her neighbor’s car was broken into recently.
Jan. 7
Two-week notice and a digital thermometer
10:51 a.m. — 100 Block of South Atlantic Avenue. Theft. The restaurant manager told police that the suspect’s girlfriend came by to drop off a DVD player and digital thermometer that the suspect stole from the restaurant. The suspect had been fired and banned from the property.
The suspect said he didn’t steal anything and that another manager had given him the property. The manager said he would check with the other manager.
The suspect added that he was just kicked out of his girlfriend’s house and that she was mad at him.
Jan. 6
All is fair in love and email?
12:47 p.m. — First Block of Indian Head Drive. Civil Complaint. The victim flagged down an officer to say he had been receiving emails that made him uncomfortable.
The victim said he met a female at a restaurant three weeks ago, and they became friends. Eventually, they started to contact each other through emails, which became flirtatious. The victim described them as “inappropriate.”
He said the female told him that her boyfriend became aware of the emails, which caused them to break up. Since then, the boyfriend has sent the victim five emails that were rude in nature, saying the victim ruined his life.
The victim said he wanted a report to be completed in case the situation gets worse.
The officer called the boyfriend and advised him to no longer contact the victim.
Jan. 6
Pool coverage
1:19 p.m. — First Block of Silver Fox Trail. Burglary of Conveyance. The victim said he was doing some work on the homeowner’s bathroom when a pool crew pulled into the driveway. The victim said he had a Dewalt power drill in the bed of the truck, but when the crew left, it was missing. There was no one else was near his truck.
The victim called the pool company and was told that the company subcontracted, so it would take some time to see who the workers were.
There were no witnesses or cameras.
