Oh-ho, it's Magic the Gathering

4:01 a.m. — First Block of Fox Hollow Drive. Burglary of Conveyance. When canvassing a neighborhood after several car break-ins, an officer found a Nissan Altima with a smashed passenger window. After being informed by a police officer, the victim came outside and checked his car to find nothing missing.

The officer noticed a large black cloth case that contained “Magic the Gathering” playing cards. It was the size and shape of a laptop case. The officer figured the suspect broke the window thinking he was going to get a laptop.

The victim’s laptop was in the trunk and was still there.

Say it, don’t spray it

10:10 a.m. — First Block of Cypress Circle. Assault/Battery. A cable TV worker flagged down a police officer to say that a customer had been verbally abusive and spit on him.

The suspect said she waited all day for an installer and no one came. She said the victim gave her an attitude, raised his voice and invaded her personal space. The suspect said she had to raise her voice to get the victim to leave.

The victim said he left when she asked him to, and the suspect followed him into the yard screaming at him and spit in his face. He said he did not want to press charges but did want it documented.

If the shoe print fits …

6:39 p.m. — 300 Block of Timberline Trail. Burglary. The victim said she came home to find her bedroom window open, and her dresser drawers and jewelry boxes open. But nothing appeared to be taken.

The victim’s roommate arrived home and said that items taken from her room are listed as follows: a Samsung Galaxy Tablet with keyboard, a gold bracelet and a love charm.

The officer found footprints outside the window that did not belong to the victims. Photos were taken and placed into evidence.

While conducting a canvass of the neighborhood, the officer noticed three juvenile males walking down the road. Two of them were wearing shoes that were consistent with the footprints found at the house.

The shoe pattern left by one of the suspects matched the pattern of a print outside the house, but the other two did not. The suspects said they had never been in the yard. One of the suspects had been contacted about a burglary in progress in the past but he said he had found a dog and was trying to return it to the owner. However, the dog did not belong at the residence.

None of them were found to be in possession of the Samsung tablet. The officer made contact with the suspects’ mothers and advised them about what was going on. Photos of the juveniles and their shoes were placed into police records.
