Someone stole solar panels from a city of Palm Coast irrigation system.
The suspect got to the panels by cutting through a fence near I-95. The panels are worth about $5,000
Friday, Jan. 17.
Getting hammered
12:32 p.m. 4000 block of Belle Terre Parkway. Aggravated battery.
A young man said someone hit him in the back of the head with a hammer in Freida Zamba Park.
Outta gas
9:57 a.m. First block of Seminole Avenue. Larceny.
A homeowner woke up to find about $20 in fuel missing from the gas tank of his 1988 Mustang. There was no sign of leaks or of tampering with the car.
Clean getaway?
2:38 p.m. First block of Buttonworth Drive.
A resident called the Sheriff’s Office to report that someone had stolen his Dyson vacuum. The rear sliding glass door was open. Nothing else was missing from the home.
Saturday, Jan. 18
Burglars barking up the wrong tree
8:47 a.m. First block of Palm Harbor Village Way. Burglary.
Somebody used rocks and a large concrete cigarette receptacle to smash out the windows of two local businesses: a restaurant and a salon.
The cash register at the restaurant was pried open, but it was empty. Nothing was missing at either business.
Not the kind of shots you want at a party
2:35 a.m. First block of Malacompra Road. Weapons complaint.
Someone called the Sheriff’s Office after hearing gunfire outside their home. Deputies arrived and saw several vehicles leaving the area.
The caller couldn’t give a description of the car or suspect, and people at the scene — some of them from Putnam County and the Orlando area — couldn’t give many details, other than that the event happened during a birthday party that had been listed on Facebook.
Deputies found four 9mm rounds, two live and two spent, in the parking lot. No one was injured.

A man called police after he woke up and found $1,500 worth of golf clubs missing from the trunk of his car. He’d left it unlocked overnight.
