The Flagler Beach Police Department is searching for two young men who fled on foot when officers tried to question them about the theft of fishing equipment, nautical gear, life jackets and electronics from properties along the Intracoastal Waterway and adjacent canals.

Officers found the two, and a third man, 24-year-old Clayton Mercer Ferguson, at Wickline Park at about 4:30 July 10, according to a Flagler Beach Police Department news release.

They arrested Ferguson and charged him with four counts of burglary and grand theft.

But they haven’t found the other two.

Meanwhile, much of the stolen property that has been recovered as evidence has not been claimed, and officers suspect there are more victims.

They have asked people who live along the water in and near Flagler Beach to check their docks, boats and backyards for missing property.

Anyone who has information about the two missing suspects, or who would like to report a theft, should call the Flagler Beach Police Department at 517-2023, or, to report tips anonymously, contact Crime Stoppers of North Florida by calling 1-888-277-8477, visiting westopcrime.com or texting “Tip231 plus your message” to CRIMES (274637).
