Two undercover kids — one 15 years old, and one 17 years old — helped the Flagler County Sheriff's Office catch adults buying booze for young people.
A March 21 arrest was one of four that came from a special detail the Safe Neighborhood Unit conducted on juvenile alcohol buys.
One of the two teens, working as a confidential informant for the Sheriff's Office, walked up to 49-year-old Palm Coast resident Lorenzo McQueen at about 9:36 p.m. March 21 outside a Kangaroo Express on Cypress Point Parkway, and “explained that they were underage and asked the defendant to purchase alcohol for them,” according to an arrest report. McQueen agreed, the kid gave him cash, and “the defendant entered the store and returned, providing the juvenile with a six pack of Bud Light beer,” according to the report.
Deputies stopped McQueen later and arrested him, charging him with giving alcohol to a person under 21 years old. They also discovered he had an active warrant for failure to appear in court over a marijuana possession charge.
The incident was captured on video, and the beer was placed into evidence.
Other people arrested in the special detail, conducted at different convenience stores in Flagler County, include Palm Coast residents Andrew John Hauser, 21; Terri Leigh Parsons, 54 and Melissa Ann Deacon, 26, according to arrest reports.
