The following is an adapted news release from the city of Palm Coast:
Palm’s Coast’s Frieda Zamba Swimming Pool has opened up for the spring and summer swimming season.
Hours through May 24 are 2 p.m.-7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and noon to 6 p.m. Saturdays. The pool will be open seven days a week beginning May 25.
Four pavilions on the pool deck are available for reservation, and the entire facility can be rented for after-hours events.
Watch for theme days, admission specials and the Dive-In Movie program. Mark your calendars now for two big events at the pool in May:
· Pool Safety Day, 1 p.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, May 17, will include pool games, mini learn-to-swim classes, water safety and first aid information and demonstrations. The cost is $1 for kids 17 and under, and $2 for adults and seniors.
· The Tribute to the Troops event, 12 p.m.-6 p.m. Sunday, May 25, will honor current and retired military personnel with free admission for those with military ID.
Swimming lessons to begin soon
Water Babies, a parent-child water introduction class using games, music and fun to introduce young children (6 months and older) to the water, will be held 1:30 p.m.-2 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays May 13-23. The cost is $30.
Swimming lessons for children and adults will also be offered in June and July, with three levels offered. Register at www.palmcoastgov.com/register.
The pool is located at 339 Parkview Drive, next to Belle Terre Park and the Buddy Taylor/Wadsworth School campus.
Daily admission is $4 adults, $3 for kids age 2 to 17 and for seniors 65 and older, and free for children under 2.
Seasonal and three-month memberships are available for families, couples and individuals.
