Two young children were found living in the home with 26 marijuana plants.

An Ormond Beach woman is in custody after police found a marijuana growing operation in her home that she shared with her two young children.

Ormond Beach Police were called to the home of Tara Heddy, 24, Sunday for a broken window and blood on the door. They discovered the damage was from Heddy and her boyfriend, who also lived in the home. When the police went inside to make sure no one was injured, they found 26 marijuana plants, approximately 105 grams of harvested marijuana and two children ages 4 and 5.

Heddy was charged with cultivation of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school, child abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia by the East Volusia Narcotics Task Force. Police are preparing to file charges against Heddy’s boyfriend as well.
