A total of six elected officials — three of them newly elected, and three re-elected — took oaths of office in three separate ceremonies Tuesday, Nov. 18.
New Palm Coast City Council members Steven Nobile and Heidi Shipley took the oath of office as council members representing District 4 and District 2, respectively.
“I just wanted to thank the city of Palm Coast for putting its faith in me to carry out the duties here, to help advance our city,” Nobile said after taking the oath. “And I look forward to working with this panel of great Palm Coasters to serve great Palm Coasters like yourselves.”
“I would like to say thank you for everybody that’s helped to get me to this position right here,” Shipley said at the ceremony. “I know I didn’t do it alone. And I appreciate everybody’s help and support.”
Flagler County Commissioners Nate McLaughlin, representing District 4, took the oath after being re-elected, as did Frank Meeker, representing District 2.
On the School Board, new board member Janet McDonald was sworn in to represent District 2. Trevor Tucker was re-elected to the District 4 seat, and Andy Dance was re-elected to the District 1 seat.
All three elected bodies also reorganized Tuesday, electing new leaders.
On the City Council, Bill McGuire was elected Vice Mayor, replacing Jason DeLorenzo in that role.
The Flagler County Commission elected Frank Meeker as its new chairman and Charlie Ericksen as its vice chairman. Meeker is replacing George Hanns as chairman, and Ericksen is replacing Meeker as vice chairman.
On the School Board, board member Colleen Conklin was elected to succeed Andy Dance as chair; Tucker is vice chair.
