A gas station at the corner of Pine Lakes Parkway and Wynnfield Drive — a project that caused a stir among residents in that area when the proposal first came to light in February — is two more steps closer to becoming a reality.

First, ME Construction applied for a $1,045,000 commercial permit for a convenience store at 295 Pine Lakes Parkway. Second, M&R United Inc. was issued a development order for a technical site plan tier 1 of a convenience store at Pine Lakes and Wynnfield.

According to Palm Coast Communications Manager Cindi Lane, the project is a 4,250-square-foot convenience store/gas station. There will be six pump islands with a total of 12 fueling positions. Also included in the project is 1,200 square feet for a drive-thru restaurant.
