The  6A state Top ranked Buccaneers (6-0, 2-0) earned a fourth shutout in just six games this season, the latest a 35-0 thrashing of the Deltona Wolves on Friday, Oct. 3, in Deltona.

Quarterback Denzel Houston remained hot on the season, accounting for four touchdowns on the night. He ran one score in for 5 yards, and he linked up with senior receiver Kaylo Hannah on three touchdown passes. Two of their connections came in the first quarter, a 34- and a 2-yard score. They were able to connect one more time in the third quarter for a 35-yard touchdown. Ryan Mack scored the other touchdown for the Bucs on a 1-yard run.

“I wasn’t’ expecting to score three times, but it felt really good,” Hannah said. “I wish we would've used Houston at quarterback last year. He's really good.” Houston played wide receiver last season for Mainland.

The Buccaneers will play the New Smyrna Beach Barracudas Thursday, Oct. 9, in New Smyrna Beach.
