The congregation at Epic Church did things a little differently Sunday, Oct. 19. Instead of having church in their normal meeting place at Buddy Taylor Middle School, they took church to the community in their second 3G Sunday.

3G Sunday, designed to live out the “gather, go, give” of the 5G lifestyle, had 270 volunteers working on 16 projects throughout Flagler County.

“The reason we do things like 3G Sunday is because we are for our community,” said Trent Schake, pastor of Epic Church. “We are for people having their real needs met; for families being strengthened; for our community officials, who work so hard to lead and manage our community. Too many times churches are known more for what they are against rather than what they are for. We’d like to change that, because we are for Flagler.”

Epic 3G projects included repairing bikes for Project Share; painting four homes in Bunnell as a partnership with Habitat for Humanity’s Brush with Kindness; landscaping at Bunnell Elementary School, Old Kings Elementary School and Palm Coast Community Church; picking up trash in downtown Bunnell; a beach cleanup; painting a classroom at Buddy Taylor Middle School; painting three buildings at Frieda Zamba Swimming Pool; putting on a fall festival for the children at the Family Life Center; assisting in daily operations and serving a hot lunch to clients at Grace Community Food Pantry; and engaging with residents at The Windsor.
