PACE Center Classic Golf Tournament raises over $12,000

The money raised will go to at-risk girls.

The weather could not have been better for the 64 golfers who came out to the LPGA Jones Course Oct. 18 to raise funds for the PACE Center for Girls Volusia-Flagler.

“I’m pleased with our results and know that this event will continue to grow,” Event Chair Lisa Block said. “It’s terrific to see this kind of support for our students.”

In addition to prizes for the three best scoring teams, Jeff Vaughn won the Longest Drive for men and Sharon Novchi hit the longest drive for women. Four prizes were awarded for closets to the pin:

—Hole three, Tom Tinsley

—Hole six Jeff Vaughn

—Hole 14, Rob Dytkowski

—Hole 17, Bill Gall

While the cash prize of $15,000 for a hole in one was on hole 14 was not awarded, Jeff Vaughn did win a set of Nike Clubs for his hole in one on hole six.

Eagle sponsors included Brown and Brown, Florida Hospital and Fifth Third Bank. Birdie sponsors included Embry Riddle University, Daytona International Speedway, Florida Health Care Plans, Embassy of Hope, Halifax Health and the Rotary Club of Ormond Beach.
