The groundbreaking ceremony will be held at 4:30 p.m. Nov. 3. 

The long-awaited renovation and expansion of the Nova Community Skate Park will begin at 4:30 p.m. Nov. 3.

Located at 440 N. Nova Road, the park will nearly double the skate-able paved surface and consist of a vendor and restroom building. In addition, a beginner area with mini ramps will be added as well as a bowl and speed skating elements.

The cost of the renovation is estimated at $450,000 and includes ECHO Grant funding for one half of the total cost, or $225,000. Construction will begin in November and the renovated skate park is expected to be open in April or May 2015.
