Gov. Rick Scott made a “Let’s Keep working” Tax Cut Tour stop in Palm Coast the morning of Tuesday, Sept. 9. Supporters of Scott stood outside the entrance to Grace’s Place Bagels and Deli, where the Palm Coast Republican’s Club meets regularly, to welcome the governor. The stop was part of a two-week tour across the state as designed for Scott to talk to Floridians about his plan to reduce taxes on families and small businesses by $1 billion over the next two years.

“Governor Scott is putting an end to frivolous taxation in Florida and dramatically reducing the tax burdens which are aimed directly at our families and businesses,” said Flagler County Commissioner Nate McLaughlin at the stop. “By putting money back into the pockets of those who earned it, Rick Scott is undeniably demonstrating his commitment to putting Florida on the right track.”

But the morning was not only filled with chants of “four more years.” Members of the Florida Friends for Obama and the Democratic Group of Flagler came out to show support for Charlie Crist by waving picket signs on Palm Coast Parkway near Grace’s Place.

“We feel that it’s imperative that we flush Rick Scott down the drain,” said Loyce Nottage-Allen, one of the protestors. “His time is up, he has not done a good job and we are here to fight this thing all the way through to Election Day.”

DeSantis makes stop in Flagler Beach
Rep. Ron DeSantis made a stop in Flagler Beach Saturday, Sept. 6 for a coffee with your congressman meeting held at Flagler Beachfront Winery.

Attendees had the chance to ask the congressman questions about local, state and national concerns.
Winery owners Ken and Kelly Tarsitano said they were excited to be able to host a political figure at their small business and hope that DeSantis could see that Flagler is fighting for their small businesses.
