The following is an adapted news release from the Flagler County Sheriff's Office:
Flagler County Sheriff’s detectives are seeking the public’s help identifying an individual who robbed a 73-year-old man on Monday while he was staying at the Best Western Hotel on Kingswood Drive in Palm Coast.
The victim told detectives that at approximately 12:40 p.m., an unidentified man in a silver car approached him in the parking lot and asked him if he was checking out of the hotel. The victim said the man then told him he was there to fix the television set in his room. The victim said he was having problems with the television and believed the man was there to help.
The victim said the man followed him to his room and when he opened the door, the man pushed him to the ground and made threatening remarks to him and stole his wallet.
The suspect is described as a black male, 5’8 to 5’10”, 180-190 pounds with black hair. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and dark jeans. Surveillance video spotted the suspect driving a 2003-2007, silver Honda Accord or Honda Civic.
