The following is an adapted news release from the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office:
Flagler County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Commander Robert “Bob” Weber has announced that he will retire April 30.
Weber joined the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office in March 2001. Over the past 14 years, he has served as a patrol supervisor and investigations supervisor, and now oversees the Public Information/Media Relations and Community Outreach Divisions.
“I have truly enjoyed serving as a law enforcement officer for the past 37 years,” he said. “I am looking forward to doing what matters most: spending more time with family.”
Weber began his law enforcement career in 1973 and served for 23 years with the Briarcliff Manor Police Department in Westchester County New York. He graduated from the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia in 1992, retired as a lieutenant in 1996 and earned his Master of Arts degree the same year from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York. He completed the Florida Executive Development Seminar held in conjunction with the FBI National Academy in 2012.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to have served alongside Commander Weber,” Sheriff James L. Manfre said. “He has been an asset to our agency and our community for many years. I wish him the best in his retirement.”
Weber is the second high-ranking Sheriff’s Office official to announce his retirement this month. Undersheriff Rick Staly announced March 17 that he will retire on April 17.
