A robber stole $120 and a Jolly Ranchers bag from the CVS at the corner of Palm Coast Parkway and Belle Terre Parkway at about 4:40 p.m. Sunday, April 26, right in front of an off-duty deputy who was standing in line.

The robber told “the clerk to put all the money into a bag and that he had a gun,” according to a Sheriff’s Office commander’s report.

The off-duty deputy followed the robber out of the store, called 911, and provided a description of the car the robber was trying to get into.

But the robber noticed he was being followed and didn’t actually get into the car, which deputies stopped in a “high risk traffic stop” behind Fire Station 21 at Palm Coast Parkway and Corporate Drive, according to an incident report.

Instead, the robber ran. Deputies weren’t able to catch him.

The car’s driver complied with deputies’ commands during the traffic stop, but they discovered that she was on parole and driving on a license that was suspended for failure to pay a traffic ticket.

Deputies arrested her on a charge of driving on a suspended license and parole violation, according to the commander’s report. There were no weapons in the car.
