The Flagler County Chamber of Commerce welcomed David I. Alfin of Watson Realty Corp as its newest benefactor member. Benefactors are the highest level of the chamber’s tiered membership structure.
According to Rebecca DeLorenzo, president of the Chamber, becoming a benefactor member reflects David Alfin’s commitment to the Chamber and the local business community.
“Our benefactors make it possible for our organization to continue to support as well as grow the value-added benefits, products and services that we offer to our members,” she said.
“Becoming a benefactor of the Chamber allows me to support the important work the organization does for our business community, while increasing the visibility of my real estate business throughout our community,” Alfin said.
Last year he launched a radio show, “Real Estate Matters” with Toby Tobin of GoToby.com on WNZF Radio and recently kicked off The Exceptional Communities mobile app.
Alfin can be reached at 585-0903 or by visiting www.exceptionalperformancerealestate.com.

Haven Hospice participate in the Medicare program
Haven Hospice has been selected to participate in the Medicare Care Choices Model, announced on July 20, by Health and Human Services secretary Sylvia Burwell. The model provides Medicare beneficiaries who qualify for coverage under the Medicare Hospice Benefit and dually eligible beneficiaries who qualify for the Medicaid Hospice Benefit the option to elect to receive supportive care services typically provided by hospice and continue to receive curative services at the same time.
“This initiative will allow certain patients to continue to receive curative services while also receiving supportive, hospice care,” said DeAnna Beverly, Haven Hospice Vice President of Clinical Operations. “At Haven we believe this will improve the quality of life for many of those individuals who have a life-limiting illness who would not otherwise choose to receive hospice services.”
