The time has come for the Palm Coast Running Series, eight runs ranging from 5Ks to a half marathon.
According to a press release form the city of Palm Coast, this will be the city of Palm Coast’s fifth and final year managing the competition, and, at the completion of the 2015-2016 season, Flagler Sheriff’s PAL will take over future operation and management.
The Running Series offers a series-long competition with an associated point system and the presentation of Running Series awards.
Registration is now underway for the first race of the new Running Series year at www.palmcoastgov.com/AutumnTrails5K. The Autumn Trails 5K Run/Walk course begins at the Palm Coast Community Center at 305 Palm Coast Parkway NE.
The run/walk will begin at 7:45 a.m., and the Kids Fun Run will begin at 8:45 a.m. The 5K run/walk is also an event for the Palm Coast & the Flagler Beaches Senior Games. To register for that Senior Games event, complete the registration at www.palmcoastgov.com/seniorgames.

The following is an adapted press release from the city of Palm Coast: Palm Coast & the Flagler Beaches Senior Games registration deadline is Tuesday, Sept. 1.
This is the second year this friendly and fun competition is in our own back yard. Palm Coast & the Flagler Beaches Senior Games, presented by Florida Hospital Flagler Orthopedic & Sports Medicine, will be held Sept. 12-19.
The Senior Games offers competition in 14 sports, including archery, pickleball, golf and many others. It’s open to men and women ages 50 and up.

Eleven of the 14 sports being offered in the local Senior Games this year are sanctioned by the Florida Sports Foundation, with the Senior Games serving as a qualifier for the Florida Senior Games State Championships.
