Aviation Machinist's Mate 2nd Class, Grace Allison of Palm Coast is currently aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt in the Arabian Gulf.
The Flagler Palm Coast High School graduate is deployed with the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations supporting Operation Inherent Resolve, strike operations in Iraq and Syria, as directed, maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the gulf.
Her duties include cleaning propeller blades of E-2D Hawkeyes assigned to the Tigertails of Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron.
Stars and Stripes, the daily newspaper serving the military, reported that the aircraft carrier made a port visit to Bahrain in July to allow the crew some time for rest and relaxation.
The Norfolk-based Roosevelt is the flagship of the Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group of five ships, carrying more than 6,000 sailors and Marines. The crews are halfway through their eight-month deployment.
