Kimble Medley, a former Flagler County deputy elections supervisor and former deputy clerk of court, has filed to run for Flagler County supervisor of elections.
This is her second run for the position: Medley, a Republican, also ran for elections supervisor in 2012, losing to Kimberle Weeks, a Democrat. (The Palm Coast Observer's candidate Q&A with her from that race can be viewed here.)
Medley recently graduated from the Flagler Chamber's first Flagler Public Leadership Institute class, and is now the third person to file for the 2016 Flagler County supervisor of elections race.
The elections supervisor position is now held by an interim elections supervisor, Kaiti Lenhart. Lenhart was deputy elections supervisor when Weeks stepped down suddenly after Weeks was arrested and charged with 12 felony counts pertaining to the illegal recording of private conversations. Lenhart, through the governor's appointment, took Weeks' place.
Lenhart, a Republican, has also filed to run for the supervisor of elections position (view her candidate statement here), as has a third candidate, Abra Seay (view her statement here), a former elections office employee and an administrator with the Flagler Schools Early Childhood Education department. Seay is also a Republican.
