Nov. 23

Another car break

7:44 a.m. — 200 Block of Cardinal Drive

Stolen Vehicle. The victim said he last saw his car parked in front of his residence. When he came outside at 7:30 a.m. it was gone. He was not sure if it was locked and keeps a spare key in the middle console.

He did not give anyone permission to take the vehicle and would like to press charges, he said. The vehicle was not listed as being towed or repossessed. It was entered as stolen.

 

Nov. 25

Panhandling leads to drug charge

3:06 p.m. — First Block of Williamson Boulevard  

Possession of Oxycodone. The officer saw a female standing in the median at the intersection of Williamson and Granada Boulevard who appeared to be panhandling. She would walk into traffic and get the attention drivers.

Panhandling in that area is prohibited, so the officer attempted to contact the suspect. When she saw the officer, she left and entered a restaurant parking lot. The officer saw her enter a pickup truck front passenger seat. The truck started to drive away, but the officer made a traffic stop in the parking lot.

While talking to the suspect, the officer noted she seemed to be on drugs as she was very fidgety and talkative.

When given consent to search the suspect’s purse, the officers found syringes and a container with what appeared to be crushed pills in a container.

The suspect said it was her oxycodone, and that she crushes them to inject them. She said she can take her oxycodone any way she wants. The substance tested positive as a morphine substance.

The suspect did not have a prescription for the drug and was taken to jail.

 

Nov. 29

Might as well take the box

2:07 a.m. — 500 Block of South Atlantic Avenue

Petit Theft. The suspect opened an 18-pack of 12-ounce cans of beer and placed a can of beer in each front pocket. With another can in his hand, he walked out of the convenience store.

He was arrested for stealing an amount equal to the cost of an 18-pack, $12.77, because the store does not sell beers individually and cannot sell the remaining beers.

The suspect could be seen in surveillance video taking the beers.

 

Dec. 2

Large cast of suspects

11:43 a.m. — 900 Block of Arroyo Parkway

Burglary. The victim said two weeks ago his house was in normal condition. He is getting ready to sell it. He said many unknown people and agents have been in the house. He also had employees who had access to the lockbox.

Approximately $7,000 in furnishings and appliances are missing. It was discovered that the lock box at the front door was missing the keys.

There were also tire tracks in the backyard.
