Runners dressed as Santa, reindeer, and in some cases, Star Wars characters, gathered at Palm Coast’s Central Park in Town Center for the 4th-annual Starlight Half Marathon and 5k. The nighttime run took participants around the Fantasy Lights display and through Town Center. The runners were advised to wear headlamps for the 13.1 mile trek.
Once the runners reached the finish line they enjoyed an evening of music, s’mores and beer.
“I am excited to provide this fun community event, which promotes healthy living and supports local charities,” Founder and Event Coordinator of the Starlight Half Marathon and 5K Carrie Meng said. “This year has been the best turn out so far.”
Proceeds of the event went to support Flagler County Sheriff’s PAL and the Matanzas High School Football Booster Club.
