James Taylor has been lighting up his house (and part of his neighbor's) for the past six years. A merry-go-round, large Christmas cards and lights synchronized with music fill up his yard on Putnam Avenue.
The collection started when he was a kid in Fort Lauderdale. His parents used to decorate four different houses.
"This is nothing compared to what my parents did," he said. "We had Santa Claus there every night, it was awesome."
Taylor has two kids, but don't be fooled. This isn't all for them.
"They don't really care," he laughed. "I do it more for me."
Other streets to check out include Rosewood Avenue, North Ridgewood Avenue and Sanchez Avenue.
Annually, the Seabreeze High School Leo Club collects toys for Shands Children's Hospital in Gainesville. The toys are combined with donations from the Ormond Beach Lions Club members. The Lions, Leos and guests gathered fro the club's annual Christmas celebration Dec. 9 at Mario's restaurant.
There will be no garbage collection on Dec. 25, or on Jan. 1. The yard waste collection schedule remains unchanged.
