FPC girls: a memorable season

The Lady Bulldogs have set a new standard in Flagler. As the only basketball team to make it to the FHSAA Final Four, They now sit atop the totem pole. Beginning months ago, FPC had their sights on becoming a great team, now they have created some memories together that they’ll never forget. Here are a few of them from the head coach and some of the players.

Coach Javier Bevacqua: “winning the Elite Eight that sent us to the Final Four. The joy in the players and coaches is unforgettable.”

Tamara Henshaw: “winning against Orlando Boone and then getting tackled after the game. We were all happy and ready to go to Lakeland.”

Shanika Gardner: “going on our kayaking bonding trip, where Armani Walker and I nearly flipped out of our boats.”
Christina Aiello: “just making it to the Final Four at Lakeland and making history as a team.”

Alicia Smith: “winning the district championship. That was something we wanted to do, and we accomplished that as a team through sacrifice.”

Ronika Gardner: “Practicing. There were serious and funny moments, and I will truly miss the fun times we had practicing together and working hard to accomplish to get to where we ended our season.”

Sada Rowley: “making it to the Final Four.

Aryelle Wagner: “going through the lights with the music playing to get us hyped for the challenge we were about to encounter in our opening home game.”

Armani Walker: “getting to the Final Four after we got knocked out my sophomore year, and I spent last season injured.”
