A 70-year-old Palm Coast man is in critical condition after crashing his car into a culvert on Belle Terre Parkway the evening of Jan. 26.
Victor Jesus Blanco Ortiz has driving his 2003 four-door Chevrolet north on Belle Terre Parkway at about 5:06 p.m. when “for reasons unknown” he left the roadway, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.
The car “traveled into the ditch and collided with a concrete culvert before overturning,” according to the report, and came to rest on its left side facing west, with Ortiz trapped inside.
Rescuers took him to Florida Hospital Flagler. The car sustained about $5,000 worth of damage, according to the report.
