Amy DeCicco, a registered nurse in the Birth Care Center at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center, recently received certification as a Certified Happiest Baby Educator.

“This certification will provide me with the knowledge to assist parents in feeling more confident in caring for their newborn,” said DeCicco. “For example, through the course, I learned tools to calm a crying, fussy baby by turning on their calming reflex, tips for practicing safe sleep and reducing the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, and much more on newborn care.”

DeCicco, an Ormond Beach resident, has been with Florida Hospital for 22 years. She is currently in the process of becoming a Basic Life Support instructor.
