The Ormond Beach Performing Arts Center and Tony Sands Productions will present “The Rat Pack Together Again” at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 7.
Frank, Dean, and Sammy, better known as “The Rat Pack,” are together again — at least in the form of a popular impersonator show.
The Ormond Beach Performing Arts Center and Tony Sands Productions will present “The Rat Pack Together Again” at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 7. Tony Sands also stars in the show as Frank Sinatra, a character he has worked on for 25 years. He began singing professionally with Sinatra at the Tropicana Casino and Resort in Atlantic City.
Sands is joined by Johnny Petillo as Dean Martin and Geno Monroe as Sammy Davis Jr. Together, the group has performed around the country.
“I had heard about the Rat Pack Together show, and heard great things about them,” said Kristy Redford of public programs. “People love the entertainment. The comedy combines with the singing. This is a wonderful performance, not just a concert.”
Sands said the show would run about an hour and a half, and include not only the Rat Pack material performed in unison and individually, but also the onstage comedic banter the trio was known for.
“We also do impressions each used to do,” said Sands. “What’s good about it is we get a mixed crowd, younger and older people. For the older it brings back a lot of memories, while the younger people tell us it was good to see what [Sinatra, Martin and Davis] were like live, which is great.”
