Someone called the Sheriff’s Office the morning of July 4 to report a dead body behind the Walmart on Cypress Point Parkway.
The call came in at about 10:34 a.m., and deputies established a crime scene and began an investigation, calling out Investigative Services detectives.
They found no identification on the body, and the person’s name has not been released.
A heavily redacted Sheriff’s Office report on the case also doesn’t list the sex or age of the person whose body was found, or exactly where it was found or how long it may have been there. It says nothing about a possible cause of death.
The Palm Coast Fire Department removed the body, and a deputy completed a death investigation report.
Sheriff’s Office deputies asked Walmart employees to review their surveillance video of the area.
