Sheriff’s Office deputies are investigating an attempted commercial burglary and two commercial burglaries — including the theft of thousands of dollars worth of jewelry from a jewelry store, and an ATM and dozens of cartons of cigarettes from a gas station — that occurred late the night of July 9 or the early morning hours of July 10.

Deputies believe the three cases may be related, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release.

The first alarm call came in at 2:38 a.m. from Sharps Discount Liquor at 103 Flagler Plaza Drive, in the Winn-Dixie shopping center on the south side of State Road 100 just west of Old Kings Road, according to the release. Someone had thrown a rock against the east side door, but wasn’t able to get inside.

Two minutes later, another alarm call came in from Greg Lynn Jewelers, in the same shopping center at 101 Flagler Plaza Drive. Thieves had shattered the glass next to the entrance, and stole about $6,000 worth of jewelry. Surveillance footage from the jewelry shop showed the suspects: two men, both with their faces covered. The footage will be made available once the Sheriff's Office gets it from the store, according to the release.

Another burglary call came in a few hours later, at 5:12 a.m., from an employee of the Hess station at 6701 S. U.S. 1 in Bunnell. There, a thief or thieves shattered the store’s glass front door and stole an ATM and about 40 cartons of cigarettes, according to the release. The theft had occurred sometime between 11:30 the previous night and the time the call was made.

Deputies identified no suspects, and have asked anyone with information on the burglaries or any other crimes in Flagler County to call the Sheriff’s Office Investigative Services Division at 586-4801, or to call Crime Stoppers at 1-(888) 277-8477. Crime Stoppers tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward.
