Thank you for your 31 years of service.
After over 30 years in the bartending school business, Hank Belden will retire at the end of the month. Belden has been the owner of the Hospitality Training and Bartending Institute since 1984.
“We have provided hundreds, if not thousands, of trained bartenders to Volusia County area bars and restaurants over the past 31 years,” said Belden. “That’s a lot of jobs keeping our local economy vibrant.”
Belden has managed bars in California, Hawaii, Australia and places throughout the U.S. He decided to open his own school after seeing the need for good bartenders. Belden prides himself on not being a ‘typical’ bartending school. Students can stay in school as long as it takes to learn the program, and as long as it takes to find a job, which they also help students do. The course not only focuses on how to make drinks, but how to increase bottom line profits and raise check averages, both for the bartender as well as the establishment. Belden’s motto for being a great bartender is ‘the more fun you have, the more money you make.’
The course not only teaches how to prepare all types of cocktails, what type of glass to serve them in, and garnish them properly, but other skills that make a successful bartender. Some of these skills include providing excellent customer service to patrons, how to build a repeat business, and going beyond expectations.
Belden is seeking a new owner to carry on the school. It can be worked on a full or part time basis.
