Palm Coast Little League has waited 15 long years for the moment to celebrate a sectional championship, and that moment has finally arrived, thanks to the 11- and 12-year-old All-Stars.

Having already conquered the district title two weeks prior, the PCLL All-Stars saved two of their best games for most important moments in their round robin sectional tournament against other district champions Baker County and Indian River City Saturday, July 25, in DeLand.

In their first game, PCLL downed Baker County 15-8, and, though they didn’t reach double figures, they nearly shut out Indian River 6-1 to win the Section 3 Championship and a berth to the Little League State Tournament.

“We are certainly proud of the boys' showing on the field, but we are most proud of how they have embraced the concept of not playing for themselves but playing for the fourteen teammates,” coach Doug Berryhill said. “Backing each other up, hustling all the time, encouraging their teammates and not sulking when we make a mistake are some of the ways the boys have demonstrated their commitment to the fourteen. This is a special group, and every one of the boys has contributed to the success we've had to this point.”

The All-Stars were led by Miles Jackson and Logan Ewbank, who both tallied four hits and two doubles a piece. Jackson also nailed two balls out of the park, and Ewbank hit one homerun.

Aedan Celestino led Palm Coast to the first win, and Sean Sparling pitched a complete game in the championship, allowing no earned runs and striking out eight.

The All Stars are Liam Babcock, Chance Barber, Aedan Celestino, Jon Clark, Christian Diaz, Logan Ewbank, Miles Jackson, Donnie Little, Alex Machado, Bobby Orndorff, Nathan Quinn, Dylan Rodriguez, Sean Sparling, and Tate Underberg.

The Palm Coast All-Stars will attempt to punch their ticket to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, when they began their run in the Little League State Tournament at 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 31, in Tallahassee.
