Three months ago, hundreds stood in attendance at Palm Coast Little League’s opening ceremony and cheered to the command of “Let’s play ball.” Now, after lasting friendships have been molded, hundreds of memories created and champions crowned, the League said goodbye to all of its participants at the closing ceremony Saturday, June 6, at the Indian Trails Sports Complex.
“This wraps up season 55 for me,” Fred Lewers said. “This year went great. We had an excellent season. The volunteers were great, and unlike most, they’re all volunteers, and we don’t pay a soul, so this is a very unique organization. We got parent involvement, and it’s getting better each year.”
DID YOU KNOW? Palm Coast Little League held over 600 games this season.
Winners: While there were nine divisions, only five finished with division winners. The others either don’t play for championships, or played against other leagues. Those that won their division were Johnson Orthodontics (Juniors), coached by Jim Luther, Legacy Landscaping (Majors), coached by Jessinta Luther, JC Marine (Seniors), coached by Brian Walberg, Anchor Title & Law (Majors), coached by Raul Hernandez and Integrity Painting (Minor A), coached by Jason Roberts.
