Five educators from Flagler County participated in the U.S. Marine Corps Educators Workshop last week at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina. The four-day experience is designed to give educators and influencers a more accurate picture of Marine Corps life and what it takes to earn the title. The workshop starts on the yellow footprints with an introduction to a drill instructor Wednesday morning and ends with the educators observing a graduation ceremony Friday morning. “It was very informative to see the whole process of them being transformed into Marines and to also get a good feel of their purpose for us as educators and our role in finding and identifying those students,” said Flagler Palm Coast High School Assistant Principal Bobby Bossardet, who was among the educators at the workshop. Bossardet was joined by fellow FPC Assistant Principal Nathan Levelette, Matanzas High School Dean Jodi Mulvihill, Matanzas media specialist Charlene Stapleton and Matanzas School Recourse Deputy John Landi.
