Flagler Palm Coast girls’ basketball just finished the most successful season in its history, reaching the Class 8A Final Four.

Head coach Javier Bevacqua, who was awarded Coach of the Year throughout the entire state of Florida for Class 8A, praised strength and conditioning coach Michael Steward, saying, “Coach Steward was instrumental in our success this season, providing strength and conditioning to our program. He made our team stronger, and as a result, kept us healthier for our deep run in the playoffs.”

Steward is the founder of the Bridge Building Program, a free basketball skills and development camp for kids 6-18 years old that mentors students and provides them with leadership and characteristic skills of becoming outstanding and productive citizens within the community.

“Our goal is to expose students to a multicultural program designed to awaken the artistic side of students who may have otherwise limited access,” Steward said. “Tutoring will be provided for those who need the extra help academically; we not only want our athletes to be physically fit, but educationally challenged as well. Emphasis will be placed on academics.”

The program is FREE and will be held on Saturdays at Flagler Palm Coast High School at 5500 E Highway 100.

Dates for the event are as follows:

2:15-4:15 p.m.
