Deputies arrested an 18-year-old Palm Coast man on charges of possession and transmission of child pornography after social media company Whisper reported that one of it users uploaded two images of child pornography.
Whisper provided the user’s IP address — a Brighthouse Networks customer address in Palm Coast — to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which forwarded the information to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, according to an arrest report.
FDLE agents tracked the IP address to the B-section home of Paul Kevin Dykes Jr., and FDLE agents and Sheriff’s Office deputies searched it. They found more child pornography in a Dropbox account on Dykes’ computer.
Agents interviewed Dykes, but his statements, and a deputy's description of the nature of the pornography found on his computer, are redacted in his arrest report.
Dykes was arrested on 10 counts of possession of child pornography and two counts of transmission of child pornography by electronic device or equipment. He is being held at the Flagler County jail on a combined $120,000 bond.
