Charlie Truglia still drives himself around Palm Coast. He uses an iPhone, occasionally logs into Facebook to check on his 15 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren, and he loves going out for dinner every Sunday.
Last week, however, Truglia went out to eat on Saturday, May 9. Inside OIive Garden, dozens of friends and family members surprised him on his 100th birthday.
Truglia, who has lived in Palm Coast since 1984, recently gave up bowling after more than 80 years at the lanes, although he still scored in the high 100s. (A profile story about his life of bowling was featured in June in the Palm Coast Observer.)
"The goal is 10 more years — I want to get to 110," he said as he hugged and smiled at a family member.
