The Flagler Sportfishing Club’s 19th-annual Spring Classic Inshore Classic was held, April 25. The tournament anglers fished the inshore waterways in hopes of claiming a share of the $4,000 in cash and prizes at the end of the day. A silent auction, raffles and 50/50 also contributed to the money raised for Second Chance Rescue. Tournament activities ended at 4:30 p.m. with a weigh-in at Bing’s Landing, where the heaviest three fish in each of the following species were declared winners: redfish, trout and flounder. The angler who had the heaviest combined weight of redfish, trout, flounder and black drum (Flagler Bucket) won a cash prize of $400.

This year, new to the tournament, was the addition of the most spots on a redfish; the winner of that received $300. Tournament winners were: Redfish: first, Shane Stover; second, Sean Sapp; third, Norm Manley; and fourth, Jesse Sink; Trout: first, Sapp; second, Greg Muller; third, Dallas Moore; fourth, Casey Pennington; Flounder: first, Tom Fraley; second, Ken Johnson; third, Brad Bond; fourth, Andy Block; Bucket winner: Stover; Most Spots: Michael Glover.
