The popular pup-friendly event was revived after a brief hiatus.
Back by popular demand, the Ormond Memorial Art Museum’s Dogapalooza took over the museum’s parking lot May 29 to show some love to local pups. The event featured a costume contest, a pet art project and plenty of “lappuccinos” for the dogs. Puppy friendly vendors that attended the event included Sandy Phillips, owner of Olivia’s Doggie Designs. She sells her custom pet clothes on Easy and Facebook and
has been asked to make everything from collars to kilts.
“One lady had a special bag pipe she wanted to attach to the kilt,” Phillips said, who has had the business for four years. “I started when I got my dog Olivia, and I couldn’t find clothes to fit her. So I started making her clothes, and it turned into a huge business.”
Costume contest winner Lulu loves to play dress up according to her owner, Linda Kerr.
“I got her at Abracadabra, and they told me to socialize her when she was a baby,” Kerr said. “That’s why she is like she is.”
