Candy Land won best decorated trunk contest, decorated by Karol and Edwin Vargas
Thousands of Bunnell residents celebrated went home with bags of candy from First Baptist Christian Academy's event.

First Baptist Christian Academy held its first Trunk or Treat event Friday, Oct. 30, at the Academy.
It was the Academy’s first attempt to positively interact with the community. There were over 30 trunks that distributed over 35,000 pieces of candy to over 1,000 families and residents of Bunnell. The themes of the trunks ranged from a military-themed trunk to Alice in Wonderland and Noah and the Ark.
The Academy received dozens of emails and comments like that one from locals who were pleased that an organization would host such an event for them.
The winners of the decorated trunk contest were Buddy the Elf and Candy Land. Other features at the event included door prizes and a petting zoo. According to Principal Kevin Lautar, FBCA plans to hold an annual event, including that there are plans already being drafted for a bigger and better Trunk or Treat next year.
