William Earl Morris, 34, was arrested Nov. 5 in South Daytona for felony vandalism of a Volusia County Sheriff’s Office deputy’s personal car, according to a press release from Ormond Beach Police Dept. Ormond Beach officers were assisted by state attorney investigators, county police and South Daytona police.
Morris was also cited for resisting arrest without violence and fleeing and eluding.
On Oct. 27, he went onto a deputy’s private property and slashed two tires of his car with a sharp object, according to police. A neighbor’s home security system captured the crime, and Morris was identified by law enforcement officers who were familiar with him.
Morris is a suspect in other incidents of vandalism of law enforcement vehicles, including a state attorney investigator’s car that was damaged in Ormond Beach on Oct. 22. He was convicted of vandalism in 2004 for vandalizing an assistant state attorney’s vehicle, the report said.
On Oct. 5, he was being held at Volusia County Jail on a total bond of $28,500 for all of the charges.
