The season of growing pains for the Sandcrabs finally reached its conclusion after the 42-9 loss to the Flagler Palm Coast Bulldogs Friday, Nov. 6, at Daytona Municipal Stadium.
From the beginning of the game to its end, Seabreeze ripped off big plays, but they were outmatched from the first quarter, going down 21-6.
The Sandcrabs’ only touchdown came in the first quarter, when Riley Oldham connected with Breonn McCormick for a 67-yard touchdown pass. In the third quarter, Noah Motto nailed a 19-yard field goal for Seabreeze’s other three points. Javier Sylvester caught and ran for big gains, but ultimately, FPC made more plays.
“We came out and played, and they played just as hard, and, in the end, they just wanted it more than we did,” Sylvester said. “Either way, I’m still proud of my team. A program is only as strong as its weakest link, but when you play as a whole, your weakest link becomes just as strong as the rest. In the future, if the underclassmen keep playing how they’ve played, they will have success. We had a lot of sophomores and freshmen. Even though we didn't have a perfect season, they've grown from it and have become better players. That, plus the early experience, will make them better players. Trust me when I say the future will be bright for them and the Sandcrabs.”
