Permanently borrowed?
6:48 p.m. — 200 Block of Amberwood Court
Theft. The victim said that her canoe was missing from her backyard. She said she would allow the suspect borrow it as long as he returned it. They were dating at one time.
She waited before reporting because she wanted to see if the canoe was returned.
She called police after she saw a friend of the suspect with a canoe tied to his truck on Instagram. The suspect said he got the canoe through Craig’s List and blocked her from the social media account.
The victim provided a description of the canoe but did not know the make or model.
Nov. 8
Decal fun and games
11:31 a.m. — 1600 Block of North U.S. 1
Stolen Tag. The victim said someone took possession of her tag decal and replaced it with someone else’s decal. Her friend had noticed the decal being different and the edges pulled up.
While speaking to the victim, the officer was flagged down by another person in the parking lot who said the decal had been ripped off her tag.
The officer was able to track down the owner of the decal that had been placed on the car. On the phone, he had spent the night at the motel at that location. He returned to the property and had to use Superglue to attach the decal back on his tag.
It appeared that someone had walked through the parking lot, changing decals on cars. There was no security footage available.

Looking for bus stops in driveways
9:45 p.m. — 200 Block of Oak Drive
Loitering or Prowling. The suspect was reported checking out vehicles and houses on North Halifax Drive and Neptune Avenue. A witness said the suspect opened a car door and then walked to another house. He said the suspect also walked up to a house.
A suspect that fit was description was located in a nearby driveway by an officer. After being read his Miranda rights, he said he did not know anyone in the area. He said he was looking for a bus stop but could not find one.
He said he was not checking cars but may have cut through a couple of yards. Asked why he would do that, he said it was a free country. Asked why he didn’t call someone for a ride, he said he did not have a phone.
He was arrested and searched, and the officer found a cell phone and Bluetooth headset. The suspect said he did not remember the password to unlock the phone.
He also had a large rock in a pocket. Asked about the rock, he said he could use it for protection but was not going to use it to break into cars.
The suspect was transported to jail.
