The following is a news release from the Flagler County Sheriff's Office:
Families won’t want to miss National Night Out, a free drug prevention and crime prevention awareness event Tuesday, Oct. 6, at Central Park in Town Center. The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Sheriff’s Office Police Athletic League, is providing this community event.
The event will feature demonstrations, Halloween treats and safety information, games, face painting, food and beverages, entertainment and more. Participants will receive a free bag of Halloween treats and information about candy and costume safety as part of the “Trail of Treats’’ to make this a safe Halloween for everyone.
Proceeds from food and drink sales will benefit the 12 and Under Travel Baseball team, which plans to travel to Cooperstown, New York, next summer for competition.
Tuesday’s event is scheduled from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Central Park in Town Center, 975 Central Ave., Palm Coast, and is designed to strengthen partnerships between community groups and local law enforcement. Several groups plan to participate including:
In addition, the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office plans to have its Mobile Command, SWAT and other units on hand for display.
The Sheriff’s Office PAL is an independent nonprofit corporation committed to “Cops Helping Kids,’’ and includes hundreds of children.
