The fourth-annual International Festival was held at Central Park in Town Center on Saturday, Oct. 3. Over 25 different countries were represented in the Parade of Nations, with flags, banners and traditional attire. The parade was led by Ancient City Pipes and Drums around the lake in Town Center, and ended the parade with the song “God Bless America.” Guests enjoyed a whole day of performances by local dancers, stunts by the X-Pogo Stuntmen and live music by local bands. A vast variety of ethnic foods and alcoholic beverages were available for purchase from several different nationalities.
“Music, dance and folklore are fun and experiential ways of learning about other cultures,” Palm Coast Parks and Recreation Director Luanne Santangelo said. The festival was designed to bring together all the different heritages in Palm Coast. Residents share their cultural heritages and traditions with food, language and dancing.
The International Festival was sponsored by Hilton Garden Inn, Molina Healthcare, the Palm Coast Observer, Coca-Cola and Waste Pro.
