The kids at the Ormond Memorial Art Museum found reasons for each piece of their fall collage.
Anastasia Morales was willing to describe her fall collage to anyone willing to listen.
“That’s my mom,” the 7-year-old said of a purple paper cutout dominating the piece. “Purple is her favorite color. Don’t worry, I asked her first.”
On the other side are a few trees with pink leaves surrounded by a sky that repetitively reads “Happy birthday.” Morales said she didn’t have a particular birthday to celebrate, and she just decided to use it.
“Maybe it’s the tree’s birthday and you don’t even know it,” 9-year-old Hana Uneda excitedly chimed in.
“Okay,” Morales said, matching her excitement. “I guess it’s the tree’s birthday.”
And with that simple exchange, a once simple decision can now be celebrated with cake.
