The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office with the Sheriff’s Office Police Athletic League held the 32nd-annual “National Night Out”, a crime-prevention awareness event. The event was set in place to teach families how to avoid potential dangers. Officers reminded children and families of simple precautionary safety steps for Halloween night, such as, checking Halloween candy for tampering, wearing bright and reflective clothing at night and stranger danger.
“National Night Out is a great chance for the community to come together for fun as well as being reminded about crime prevention,’’ Sheriff James L. Manfre said, from a Flagler County Sheriff’s Office press release. “It’s good for everyone.’’
The Flagler Beach Police Department taught families the importance of bicycle safety and wearing protection while Bunnell Police Officers allowed children to interact with the K-9 units.
