The students at the Palm Coast Community Child Center had fun while they learned about firemen last week. The city of Palm Coast Fire Station 21 visited the school during fire safety week. The children had the opportunity to learn about fire safety and climb into fire trucks.
Your Town_Title IXThe Flagler County Branch of the American Association of University Women will meet at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 10 at the Pine Lakes Golf Club, 400 Pine Lakes Parkway. The guest speaker will be Debbie Powers, author of “Meeting her Match,” the story of a female athlete before and after Title IX. As a player and coach she will give a real life history lesson about the evolution of women’s sports. Lunch is is $16 and reservations can be made by calling Sally Smeaton at 447-4137.Club membership is not required to attend. The NAACP will meet at 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 18 at the Golden Corral, 225 Cypress Edge Dr. This will be the 2015-2106 school year meeting presented by Martine Wallengberg, chairman of the Flagler NAACP. For more information, call 446-7822.
